Schedule and Cost Management
Managing the cost and schedule of a large program is a difficult undertaking. Implementing the scheduling and earned value management system for a new program is even more challenging…especially if it involves multiple divisions, companies, locations, each of which may be using different systems.
We help defense contractors implement and run these scheduling and earned value systems. Over the last 10 years we have implemented the IMS (Integrated Master Schedule) and EVMS (Earned Value Management System) for over 20 defense programs, with a combined program value of $15 billion. Our strength is using Microsoft Project (and the enterprise version called Microsoft Project Server) for the IMS, MPM for EVMS, and wInsight for financial reporting.

Proposal Phase of the Program
- Develop the IMP and IMS
- Create text and art for the proposal
Implementation Phase of the Program
- Work with team leaders to modify, finalize and baseline the IMS
- Work with finance to assure the smooth integration of the IMS with the EVMS. Assist finance in creating the cost baseline. Load the MPM cost baseline.
- Provide schedulers (if appropriate) in addition to IMS EVMS management
- Design, document, train and implement the process that the team will use for IMS and EVMS
- Design, document, train and implement the tool set that the team will use for IMS and EVMS
- Meet with the customer as appropriate
- Assist in the preparations and conduct of the IBR
- Implement a rolling wave process for adding schedule detail as time passes
Sustainment Phase of the Program
- Perform IMS tracking and cost tracking
- Act as a cost effective, flexible, long-term scheduling solution
